Watching

If you want to see what a class is like, you are welcome to watch.

Feel free to come and watch a class to see first hand what it is like and how it is taught. Please arrive in plenty of time, so that the teacher or one of the higher grades can introduce you to what you are about to see; and please make enough time to watch the whole lesson.

The lesson is two hours long, but there is a short break in the middle. During that break, we will be happy to answer any questions about what you have seen, and about the club in general.

Other Beginners’ Questions

The Ki Federation Website includes introductory material about such things as:

Times

Classes are from 7.30 to 9.30pm on Monday evenings.

Access is available to the room from 7.00pm, so the dojo can be prepared from that time onwards.

There is usually a short break over the Christmas period, but otherwise every Monday will be covered.

All classes are taught by a qualified Ki Federation Teacher or Assistant Teacher.
All classes are taught within the individual student’s natural physical limits in mind.

Membership

Before anyone is allowed to practice, he or she must be a member of the Ki Federation. Joining the Ki Federation involves an annual payment, and this means that we must take cash or a cheque for your first month.

The table below shows:

First Month:
includes membership of the KFGB, and four weeks’ lessons. A good way to join the KFGB, practice and be given an introduction to Ki Aikido
Standing Order:
after the 1st month (which has to be paid cash or cheque), you can choose to pay either by standing order or by Single Class. This rate includes annual renewal of your KFGB membership, and is only the cost of four single classes — so some months include a free lesson
Single Class:
this is the fee for a single 2 hour lesson
