You are welcome to watch a class to see how it is taught and meet our members before joining. Beginners are always welcome.

Sensei Bonita Cornish started practising Ki Aikido in 1986 within the Ki Federation of Great Britain under Sensei Kenneth Williams. She was assistant to Sensei Margaret Williams, President of the Ki Federation, and is a grading officer and member of the Executive Committee.

Spring 2026 Beginners Course

Start date: Thursday 7th May 2026
End date: Thursday 11th June 2026

June 2024 Edinburgh Course

Learn to be calm, relaxed, and positive under pressure, using mind and body together effectively.

In this six week course, you will learn the basic principles of Ki Aikido, and a range of aikido exercises.

 

These will include:

  • Ki for health exercises to loosen and lengthen the body
  • Ki development exercises to train efficient structuring into the body, based on relaxation and posture
  • Principles of mind and body co-ordination – demonstrating how mind and body work together to create a greater resilience
  • How to fall and roll safely
  • How to work with a partner without pushing/pulling them
  • A set of beginner level throws and falls

 

Fees

Fees include annual membership of the Ki Federation of Great Britain and insurance, plus a discounted lesson fee (* This does not include Eventbrite’s own fee).

Students testing for stability throughout the backwards roll.
